My First Jumper (2in1) is a simple, oversized, beginner friendly pattern. The pattern can be knit up in about a week and is easy/beginner level. The “level up” section of the pattern is a perfect introduction into intarsia knitting also. The jumper is knit up in 4 panels using straight needles and is made up of one front panel, one back panel and two sleeves. The “half and half” section of the pattern also includes a ribbed neckline if you would like to include it. These panels are then all seamed together and finished up by weaving in the ends.
The pattern includes sizes XS to 3XL. The sample is knit in size S. If you would like to use a different weight of yarn, measurements are included below.
The techniques you will need to know are knit, purl, 1x1 rib, knit 2 together, ssk, cast on and cast off. However, if you are a beginner looking for a challenge, instructional photos are included throughout and a video link for the simple version of the jumper is included at the end of the pattern.
